[*] Project Proposal

The theme I have chosen is skateboarding, this is because I have always had an interest in skateboarding and spent a lot of time playing games on Xbox such as Skate 1, 2 and 3. I have created some board designs in the past however have not done anything with them.
The mediums I will be using for my work is photography, graphic design on mainly Photoshop however may use other programs like Cinema 4D / 3D.
For my skateboard graphic, I would like to create a graphic for the bottom of a skateboard. I plan to create a cartoon-like character who will have a logo presented on-top of it, central to the skateboard (0, 0). The character I want to create will be wearing a Nike jacket with a pouch (man bag). I want to give the character a chav-like look, this is because of being in Notts and it’s similar to the clothes that I watch.
For my website, I wish to create a selection of clothes and peripherals that will be placed onto the shop found on my website. The clothes going to be designed are typically skater clothes. This means white t-shirts with my design on top of them. I plan to take the picture of the t-shirt and use Photoshop to put the designs on top of them.
Finally, for my branding I wish to create a selection of clothes and peripherals that will be placed onto the shop found on my website. The clothes going to be designed are typically skater clothes. This means white t-shirts with my design on top of them. I plan to take the picture of the t-shirt and use Photoshop to put the designs on top of them
The initial research I will look at is cost of printing a skateboard, average costs of clothing and skate accessories. I will also look at existing websites and clothes designs as examples of work to put on my website. I will also be submitting a survey and gathering some demographic information, this is to narrow down the target market. The pre-production work I will do is when it comes to taking a picture of a t-shirt would be taking test shorts to ensure the picture is what I want. I also need to do sketches and mock-up designs of both my board design and my website. The audience research I need to do for all three of my FMP elements. For starters, my board design needs to match the target audience which is anywhere from kids to adults (10-35). Next, my website needs to appeal to the same age group (10-35). I need the text to be a suitable size for those with good and bad vision to be able to read it, however still look visually appealing, so not have size 30 text. Finally, I need to choose a suitable design on t-shirts, belts, hats and other clothing and peripherals. I need one that is suitable to all ages within my target market.

I will present my final pieces in the following forms:
Website: A live published website that is fully accessible through any browser.
Branding: All presented in a live working shop although payments will not be set-up in case people purchase from it.
Skateboard Graphic: Presented on a skateboard deck although will have no wheels or trucks. It will also be visible on my website.
